The Norton 2020 Campaign Party

Good morning! Thank you all very much for attending. Unfortunately, our Presidential candidate, Sedona Norton, was unable to be here today to present this speech, so I, Emily Hill, will be filling in on her behalf. I want to start off by addressing some of the key issues of our campaign, and how we plan to take action on each one if Norton is elected as your President.
One of our key issues is regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. Our plan involves enforcing social distancing regulations more strictly. These rules are being disregarded because businesses are reopening. People are starting to congregate in crowded groups, believing that the worst of this virus is over. However, this is a dangerous mindset as the virus is still spreading rapidly through our country. Our aim is to continue to let businesses reopen, while also keeping the health and safety of the public as a priority.
Another one of our key issues is education. Our campaign strongly believes that every child deserves the chance to have an education. If students are developing skills, acquiring knowledge and being prepared for careers of their choice, the economic future of America is bright. We want to continue to support this cause by donating a portion of our spending to bettering curriculum around the nation, and acquiring technology that will give our students the skills they need to enter exceptional careers in the modern world.
Our third key issue is equal pay for women. The gender wage gap has been present in America for decades despite admirable efforts in the past. We believe that every woman deserves to be paid equally. In order to ensure this, we will ask employers to prove that any salary disparities exist solely because of job-related aspects and not because of gender. We believe that this is the next step in closing the wage gap between men and women in America.
Our final key issue is relating to the unemployment problem in America. We want to stimulate healthy economic growth and create solutions to unemployment. This will include monitoring the labor force and managing where to create new jobs for workers in need. We also want to encourage small businesses to compete with larger ones, keeping capitalism strong and thriving in our country.
We believe that with your help we can achieve our goals regarding these problems of today. Your votes are what will help transform our plans from ideas to reality.
